I got my AHS Foundation newsletter yesterday, and I was shocked to see Bill's name in
the memorial column. Bill was always a kind and considerate being. We spent many hours enjoying our basketball experiences with State Street Basketball, including walking home after practices and games. It does not sound real to call him Bill or William when I only new him as "Skeets", from wherever that name came. Our last activity together was at the 50th reunion when we played golf at The Alliance Country Club; my wife and Mike Cindia were also in the group. We had a great time; and as usual, he was quite jovial. I send my deepest sympathies to his family, especially "Linda from Leetonia", and his brothers and sisters I recall from class.
A very common story about Skeets was when our 9th grade coach, Mr. Siefke, sent a basketball home with him to sleep with to try to get him to learn to hold on to the ball. We all got a great charge out of that.
He also helped me with my eighth grade basketball team by working with the big men; and he would bring his Regina team over to State Street to scrimmage with my non-starters.
