Wade E. Unkefer's Obituary
Wade E. Unkefer, 57, of Carrollton, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 1:34 pm at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio.
He was born in Alliance on April 24, 1968 to Morris and Patricia (Penrod) Unkefer. His love of the outdoors began with his membership in the Boy Scouts and yearly camping vacations with his family at Guilford Lake.
Wade was a lifetime member of Science Hill Community Church where he was married and where he volunteered many hours of his electrical knowledge to help with projects.
A 1986 graduate of Marlington High School, he played the Bass Drum with the Marching Dukes of Marlington.
A veteran of both the Gulf War and Desert Storm, he served our country as a Submariner in the U.S. Navy.
After his service in the Navy, Wade was employed as an electrician at Ruhl Electric, taught Journeyman classes at Kent State Salem Campus, and later worked positions including Morton Salt under Lake Erie, PCC Airfoils in Minerva and was currently employed at Freeport Press in New Philadelphia.
Wade and his wife bred 42 Dogue de Bordeaux puppies over ten years. They also enjoyed riding his Harley and fine dining.
Survivors include his step-daughter, Megan E. Showers of Damascus; two step-sons, Shawn Blymiller of New Franklin and Erik (Carrie) Blymiller of Alliance; four grandchildren, Gabriel, Christian, Nicholas and Fenix; his sister, Beth Unkefer of North Royalton; and extended loving family.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Anne Maria (Marini) Unkefer, whom he married June 9, 2007 and who died on February 25, 2025; and his parents.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am with Rev. Jon Truax, of Science Hill Community Church, officiating. Military Honors will given at the funeral home.
