Rose Marie Socotch's Obituary
Rose Marie Socotch, 88, of Homeworth, died on Friday, October 26, 2007, at 2:43 p.m. at McCrea Manor. She was born on January 24, 1919 and lived in the Homeworth area for most of her life. In her faith, she supported the Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church. In her past-time, Rosie enjoyed playing cards and bingo, and especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Socotch retired from the Ohio Tool & Drill company in Homeworth after 27 years of service. She is survived by a son, David (Debbie) Socotch of Alliance; a daughter, Charlotte Jarvis of New Mexico; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary (Lindal) Maddox of Bradenton, FL, Dorothy Marks of Leesburg, FL, Sadie (Paul) Bush of N. Lima, OH and Eva Laubscher of Akron, OH; one brother, Dan Papic of Canfield, OH; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Charles Socotch on March 3, 1975, whom she married on July 26, 1941; a daughter, Darlene Owen, a great-grandson, Gage Thomas Knight; her parents, Nick and Petra (Goykovich) Papic; four sisters, Helen Vickers, Mildred Berong, Katie Vizzuso and Ann Blender; and three brothers, George, Joe and Mike Papic. The family will receive friends at Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church in Homeworth on Wednesday, October 31, 2007, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
