Lindsay Marie Socotch
Forever Wise Rose Marie Socotch is the wisest person I know. She is more than just my grandmother. She is a teacher, a counselor, a mentor and much more! My grandma is wise because she can tell me things from the past that I will never find in history books. She is a library full of stories. Some people may say that the elderly are very forgetful. But I believe that they remember the important things. For instance, my grannys cooking makes everyones mouth water. She recalls her homemade recipes as I would have to study and reread the pages of Betty Crocker. Life experiences also make her wise. She has seen things I have not seen. Felt things that I have not felt. She shares things of the years before me and shows me things today that I may miss. She may not beat me in Spit but shell give me a run for my money in 500 rum. She knows everything about plants and when I need a hug. Her wisdom sets examples across the ages. While the words that she chooses and her posture of prayer is a constant reminder of hope in this world. Her wisdom flows from a compassionate heart. She always understands and is slow to judge. Her knowledge is diverse and she strives to fulfill the needs of others. In her old age she has had some set backs but in the end a smile appears. She knows how to do things that I cannot grasp, like crochet a blanket and master a word search. She is always willing to teach us the old and make room for some new. Her cleverness brings cheer to any room. She always finds a way to make any birthday special. Her thoughtfulness goes above and beyond. She is wise in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. A widow for decades her love has still spread. Her wisdom has raised many with a wish; to pass it on. ~Written By: Lindsay Marie Socotch I LOVE AND MISS YOU GRANDMA!!!
