Paul Edward Franks' Obituary
Paul Edward Franks, 88, of Homeworth, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 8:16 pm at Vista Veranda Assisted Living in Ravenna.
Born on August 3, 1935 in Randolph to William W. and Zola M. (Busby) Franks, he lived in Atwater most of his life.
A 1954 graduate of Atwater High School, Paul was employed at BF Goodrich in Akron for 20+ years and at Marlington High School as Maintenance Supervisor. He also owned Franks Carpet Cleaning and was an Apprentice Barber with his older brother, Bud.
Paul was All County Basketball Champion during High School. He enjoyed woodworking and his job as a shuttle driver.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Luella M. (Pauley) Franks, whom he married on December 6, 1953; three sons, Terry L. Franks of Alliance, Mark A. (Mary) Franks of Homeworth and Rex A. (Doni) Franks of Winterhaven, FL; seven grandchildren, Andy (Joanna) Franks, Melissa (Gary) Krenzer, Michael Franks, Clint (Kim) Franks, Craig (Danielle) VanCamp, Christin VanCamp and Nate Franks; 11 great-grandchildren, Bri, Becca, Brayden, Kyla (Hector), Shyanna, Vicktoria, Wyatt, Teagan, Mariah, Haddeley and Shelby; three great-great-grandchildren, Eliana, Abel, Chloe; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Opal Hartman and Thelma Steckel; and four brothers, Ralph, Donald, Charles and Chester Franks.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Atwater Cemetery.
