Marcella K. "Marcy" Patter's Obituary
Marcella K. "Marcy" Patter, 83, of Alliance, died on Monday, July 24, 2006. Marcy was born on September 5, 1922, and lived in Alliance all of her life. A graduate of Alliance High School and the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Parkersburg, WV, she entered the U.S. Army and served as a Lieutenant and nurse during World War II. Marcy was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and was a Eucharist Minister. She belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society and was very active with many activities at Regina throughout the years. Mrs. Patter retired from Mount Union College where she had been employed as a registered nurse for 39 years. She also had been employed as an emergency room nurse at Alliance Community Hospital. Marcy was member of the Alliance Women s Club for many years and enjoyed playing cards and was a member of various bridge clubs. She also loved to travel. She is survived by her husband, James F. Patter, whom she married on January 7, 1946; a daughter, Kim (Michael) Gatien of North Canton; a son, Jeff (Mary Ann) Patter of Dublin, OH; eight grandchildren, Jeff, Jenny, and Tim Bradley, Sean and Matt Gatien, and Julie, Megan, and Brad Patter; a brother, Richard "Dick" Balduzzi of Beverly Hills, CA; and a niece, Judy Phillips of Westchester, PA. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Bradley; and her parents, Marshall and Edith (Castina) Balduzzi. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, July 27, 2006, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Thursday, July 27, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Seifert as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
