Maddalena "Helen" Mangino's Obituary
Maddalena "Helen" Mangino, 87, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 2:58 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. She was born in Alliance, and lived in Alliance all of her life, and was a graduate of Alliance High School. Helen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Roma Society. Mrs. Mangino was employed by the former Barber s Market for many years and retired from Hillcrest Market in 2001, where she was employed as a clerk. In her past-time, she enjoyed collecting buttons, quilting, crocheting and collecting antique glasswear. She is survived by her husband, Angelo Mangino whom she married on December 12, 1942; two sons, Michael (Diantha) Mangino of Alliance and Stephen (Joan) Mangino of Louisville; four grandchildren, Melissa (Scott) Steepleton of N. Canton, Matthew Mangino of Louisville, Daniel Mangino of Louisville and Joseph Mangino of Louisville; a great-granddaughter, Ava Steepleton; a sister, Eleanor Mangino of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was a son, Thomas Mangino; a daughter-in-law, Connie Mangino; her parents, Antonio and Mary (Castellucci) Micketti; three sisters, Ann Rich, Ida Barber and Virginia Welch; and a brother, Thomas Micketti. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, December 5, 2008 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, December 5, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
