Jean Chain Deibel's Obituary
Jean Chain Deibel, 90, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2012, at 9:32 p.m. at Alterra Sterling House of Alliance. Born on June 20, 1922 in Oil City, PA, she raised her family in Beloit and has lived in the Alliance area for the past 14 years. She was a 1939 graduate of Boardman High School and attended night school at Youngstown College. She retired from the Transue and Williams Stamping Plant in 1983, where she was employed as a secretary. Mrs. Deibel was active in the Carnation Players and was a volunteer for the West Branch School System Band and Athletic Boosters. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the joy of her life. Survivors include her four daughters, Terrie (Bruce) Rohrer of Alliance, Oleta (Jeff) Evans of Jackson Twp., Kathy (David) Gano of Salem and Artie (Michael) Geiger of Homeworth; two sons, Thomas (Kathleen) Chain of Malvern and James (Eleanor) Chain of Columbus; a step-son, John Deibel of Springfield; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death was her first husband, James C. Chain in 1979, her second husband, William Deibel in 1997; her parents, Clarence and Mabelle (Burgi) Marshall; two sisters, Dorothy Ruhlman and Ann Louise Horan; and a brother, Robert Marshall. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, January 7, 2013, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Her memorial service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Thomas Chain officiating.
