Eugene C. "Gene" Paina's Obituary
Gene Paina, 70, died August 27, 2025 in his home.
A lifelong resident of Alliance, Ohio, he graduated from Alliance High School in 1973 and from Mount Union College in 1977. He later earned a master’s degree in education and built his career as a teacher and football coach, working for United Local Schools and Canton City Schools.
He will be remembered for his love of sports, his excellence in high school basketball and football, his college football career, and his love of the Cleveland Browns.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Anne B. and Eugene Paina of Alliance, and great-nephew Enzo Polletta of Peoria, Arizona.
He is survived by sister Cindy (Tony) Polletta of Phoenix, Arizona; niece Maria Polletta (Michael Arteca) and great-niece Evelina Arteca, all of Phoenix, Arizona; and nephew David Polletta (Brianna Sniff) of Peoria, Arizona.
No memorial service will be held.
