Wayen well be missed by every one.He had his ways to make everyone smill. He was a wonderfull man.my prayer to his famly.
I too met Wayne and his family through Boy Scout Troop 101. His personality and infectious smile would light up any room. He was always there to give the boys advice or to relate a personal story. I know making Easter candy or selling hot dogs won't be the same without him. Kristine, you and the boys are in my thougts and prayers.
correction: relating his experiences as an Army helicopter crew chief.
I got to know Wayne around the campfire at Camp Tayanita, our first Polar Bear campout last November. He came down for the day as he was not really involved in our Troop at the time. While relating his experiences as an Army helicopter pilot, we were interrupted by a scout who needed something. Wayne deffered to me because he said he was not familiar enough with the scouting program. I told Wayne that the first and most important thing is to be a good Dad to the scouts. I think Wayne looked inside of himself and thought, Yeah, I can do that. And boy could he ever. He jumped into scouting and passed all the basic leadership training before anyone knew what happened. At camp no one could have been a better Dad to our Scouts. He was always interested in every scout, enjoying each one for their unique character. He loved to help them, and to share his good nature and his wisdom. At summer camp he signed up for every leadership challenge he could. He followed every scout's merit badge progress with a care and gusto that everyone came to know as Wayne's style. He was a great tent-buddy, except when he beat me to the key to the latrene in the pre-dawn hours. Ed Teeters summed it up best when he said that Wayne was like someone he knew his whole life. He was to me too. He has left a big hole in our lives and he is sorely missed. But he has also left footprints out there for his boys to follow. When, on some days they seem hard to find, they can always be found right in front of them when the boys do their best. We at Troop 101 will be there to help them find the trail Wayne left to them.

I have only known Wayne for a short time, and he was one of the greatest guys I have meet. He will truly be missed. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.
I knew Wayne for less than a year through meetings and outings with Boy Scout Troop 101. With his friendly smile and helping hand, he became a good friend in a very short time. I will miss him as though I had known him all my life. My heartfelt condolences go to his wife Kristine and to Tim, Joshua, and Christopher.
