Douglas Wright's Obituary
Douglas G. Wright, 67, of Alliance, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Bel Air Senior Living Community in Alliance, Ohio.
Born on December 19, 1949 in Salem, Ohio to Howard "Bud" and Evelyn M. (Bardo) Wright, he was a lifelong Alliance resident.
A 1967 graduate of Alliance High School, Doug was the owner of Doug's Classic 57 Diner, and retired in 2015 after 38 years.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the National Restaurant Association. He was a former member of the Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce and the Alliance Lion's Club.
Doug enjoyed classic cars, especially cars from the 50's & 60's, traveling, but spending time with his grandchildren meant the most to him.
Survivors include wife, Norma K. (Leech) Wright, whom he married on January 10, 1981; daughter, Tina (John) Marsh of Alliance, OH; three sons, Ken Shaver of Salem, OH, Michael (Pamela) Shaver of Alliance, OH, Casey (Amy) Wright of Salem, OH; six grandchildren, Tiffany, Jaclyn, Alexandra, Troy, Lauren, & Owen; one great-grandchild, Lincoln; his mother, Evelyn M. Oberlin of Damascus, OH; brother, Donald R. (Kelly) Wright of Poland, OH; niece, Kiley Wright of Poland, OH; nephew, Steven Wright of Lakewood, OH; and many other nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his father, Howard "Bud" Wright.
A Private Service will be held.
