Connie Flugan 's Obituary
Connie Flugan, 70, of Alliance, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at 2:41 am at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.
Born on July 17, 1947 in Alliance, to Francis Albert and Constance "Tonsi" (Dordea) Peters, she lived in Alliance for all of her life.
A 1965 graduate of Alliance High School, Connie was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church where she taught Sunday School and worked with the Latchkey program.
Connie was employed at Robertson Electrical Supply Co. / CED as an Accounting Receptionist and had retired in May of 2013 after 32 years of service.
She was a member of the Red Cross - Learn to Swim Program with her father who orchestrated the program and with many family members had taught over 10,000 children to swim.
Connie participated in Relay-for-Life for many years and was a 28 year cancer survivor. When diagnosed with ALS in 2016, she continued to maintain a positive attitude and live each day as a blessing.
Connie will always be remembered for her infectious smile, warmth, fairness and kindness. She lived a life dedicated to her husband, children and grandchildren and she enjoyed her many friendships.
Survivors include her husband, Dale "Bud" Flugan whom she married on April 4, 1970; her two daughters, Diane (Brian) O’Hearn of Vernal, UT and Carrie Flugan of Alliance; her son, Kris (Erica) Flugan of Salt Lake City, UT; three grandchildren, Eoin, Sage and Calvin who lovingly referred to her as “Honey”; her mother, Constance "Tonsi" Peters of Alliance; four brothers, Gary Peters of Alliance, Mark Peters of Alliance, David (Cindy) Peters of Medina, and Jeff (Sue) Peters of Medina; two sisters, Christina (Jim) Storck of Alliance and Nikki Hensley of New Port Richey, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her father, Francis Albert Peters.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 am at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Ruggieri, of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, as celebrant.
