Yvette L. Phillips' Obituary
Yvette L. Phillips, 82, of Louisville, died on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 11:35 p.m. at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. She was born on May 22, 1928 in Providence, Rhode Island and had lived in Alliance since 1956, moving to Louisville in 2005. She was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, in Providence, RI. A charter member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, she was also a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary Council #558. She was also a member of AARP and the Alliance Senior Citizens. She was formerly employed at Brown and Sharp Manufacturing in Providence, RI . In her past-time, she enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Swinging Sixties Bowling League. She is survived by her husband, Leland E. Phillips whom she married on June 16, 1951; two daughters, Elaine L. (George) Poole of San Antonio, TX and Maureen E. (Ed) Williams of Concord, CA; four sons, Russell K. (Karen) Phillips of Norwood, MA, Alan L. (Catherine) Phillips of Sacramento, CA, Ronald J. (Barbara) Phillips of Norwood, MA and John M. (Kay) Phillips of Silver Spring, MD; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Victor Gentes of Fremont, CA and R. Joseph (Mary) Gentes of Arnold CA; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Alderic and Ernestine (Cartier) Gentes; two sisters, Isabelle (Gentes) Montigny and Rita (Gentes) Elderkin; three brothers, Albert Gentes, Edgar Gentes and Leonardo Gentes; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Smidebush. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, March 11, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Seifert as celebrant. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
