Yolanda S. (Chernikovich) Damiani, 85, of Alliance, died on Monday, July 5, 2004, at Alliance Community Hospital. .. Born in Sturgeon, PA, on January 1, 1919, she lived most of her life in Alliance. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mrs. Damiani is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Paulette (Damiani) and John Hartley of Lisbon; her son, Mario Damiani of Alliance; grandchildren, Lisa (Hartley) and Jeff Cornell of East Liverpool, Bridgette (Hartley) and Mike Murphy of East Liverpool, Joanne (Hartley) Schumacher of Cleveland, Anne Marie (Hartley) Schumacher of Cleveland, Derrick and Linda Damiani of Alliance, and Kimberly (Damiani) and Clint Wagner of Canton, GA; great-grandchildren, Jamison Hartley, Jeffery Cornell and Victoria Cornell all of East Liverpool, Brittany Heffner, Jordan Murphy, and Brooke Murphy, all of East Liverpool, Brittany Schumacher of Cleveland, Dillwyn Damiani of Alliance, and Cayley and Kyle Wagner of Canton, She was preceded in death by her husband Mario Damiani on September 23, 1983, (they were married on October 17, 1942); her parents, John and Yolanda (Vargo) Chernikovich; a sister, Margaret Chernikovich Sharkey; and two brothers, John Chernikovich and Joe Mike Chernikovich. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, July 9, 2004, from 11:00 - 12:00 noon. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 noon, with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht officiating. Internment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
