William B. Rometo's Obituary
William B. Rometo, 91, of Alliance, died on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Altercare of Alliance. He was born on July 1, 1916, in Glassmere, PA., and served with the U. S. Army during World War II. Mr. Rometo was a Health & Physical Education Teacher, and Coach at Plum High School, in Plum, PA. He retired as Principal of Plum Jr. High in 1978. He is survived by his wife, Rose M. (Grill) Rometo, and have been married for 61 years; his children, Michele Spence, of Wheeling W.VA, Arlene (Dennis) Bruderly, of Alliance, Marlene (William) Johnson, Georgetown, S.C., William J. (MaryAnn) Rometo, of Plum PA, and Robert (Peggy) Rometo, of Bradenton, FL; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 9 brothers; and 2 sisters. The family will receive friends at Maurice Knee Funeral Home, 7663 Saltsburg Road, Pittsburgh, Pa 15239 (1-412-798-9740) on Wednesday, December 12, from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m., and also on Thursday from 8 - 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Mt. St. Peters Church in New Kensington, PA on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery, Lower Burrell, PA.
