William George Marconi's Obituary
William George Marconi, 64, of Perrysburg, Ohio and formerly of Alliance, died on Thursday, July 26, 2007, at 9:59 p.m. at his home. Bill was born on July 21, 1943, in Alliance, and lived in Alliance until 1988 when he moved to Perrsyburg. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Bill retired from the Ford Motor Company in Maumee, where he was employed as a die maker. He had previously worked at Transue & Williams and the former Drop Forge in Alliance. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance and was a member of the Alliance BPO Elks, and of Sleepy Hollow Country Club. Bill enjoyed fishing, gardening and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Lana (Kent) Marconi whom he married on March 5, 1966; a daughter, Cathi Reid of Haymarket, VA; two sons, William G. (Lisa) Marconi, Jr. of Pataskala, OH and Major Frank (Wendee) Marconi, USAF, of Langley Air Force Base, VA; nine grandchildren, Megan, Marley, Kirsten, Kristen, Matt, Kate, Kimberly, Broderic and Luke; a sister, Linda Hoiles of Beloit, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Catherine (McCoskey) Marconi; and two brothers, Frank and Richard Marconi. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
