William C. Hively's Obituary
William C. Hively, 97, of Sebring, FL, formerly of Alliance, died on Sunday, May 8, 2005, at The Palms of Sebring. Born in Alliance on June 25, 1907, he lived in Alliance and worked at T & W Stamping Plant until 1943 when he moved to Philadelphia, PA. During WWII, he worked as a foreman at RCA Victor in Camden, NJ. Mr. Hively retired from General Electric Switchgear Plant in Philadelphia in 1978 and moved to the Sebring, Florida area. William was a member of the Salvation Army since 1934 and went 34 years without missing a Sunday. He was a member of the Christian Business Men and the Frankford Grocer Association, both of Philadelphia, PA, and the Kiwanis International of Unity, PA. Mr. Hively and his late wife, Esther (Parrish) Hively cared for 153 foster children. He is survived by two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and a sister, Margaret Felkey of New Brighton, PA. Funeral services will be held at Highland Memorial Park Chapel on Thursday at 11:00 a.m., with Major Raymond Patrick of the Salvation Army officiating. Interment will follow. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
