William D. "Bill" Heestand's Obituary
William D. "Bill" Heestand, 70, of Homeworth, died on Saturday, July 5, 2008, at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on January 8, 1938 in Alliance to the late Dean and Helen (Geisse) Heestand, and lived in the Alliance area for most of his life. Bill was a 1955 graduate of Sebring High School and retired from Transue & Williams Forging Co. A member of the Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church, he enjoyed photography, working on the computer and genealogy. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Glenda (Zeller) Heestand, whom he married on June 15, 1957; three sons, William D. Jr. (Kim) Heestand and granddaughter Katelane of Cincinnati, Keith A. Heestand of the home, and Bradford L. (Pam) Heestand and grandchildren, Carissa & Kyle of Canton, MI; a sister, Beverly (Robert) Gruszecki of Damascus; a brother, David (Lynda) Heestand of Staunton, VA; step-mother, Lucille Heestand, step-sister, Shirley (Rick) Cline, and step-brother, James (Ann) Ridenour, all of Elkton, VA; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; and an infant brother, Dale Heestand. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
