William "Billy" Gallina's Obituary
William C. "Billy" Gallina, Jr., 76, of Alliance, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Sunday, January 8, 2023, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born on September 6, 1946, in Alliance, to William and Ann (Schneider) Gallina, Sr. and lived in Alliance all of his life.
He was a 1965 graduate of Alliance High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served our country in the U.S. Army from 1965 – 1968. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #1036, the American Legion Post #166 and the Vietnam Veterans, Thomas A. Mangino Chapter #157.
He was also a member of B.P.O. Elks, Lodge #467 and the Christopher Columbus Society.
Bill was employed at GM Lordstown Plant for 34 years.
Bill was a handyman, spending much of his time remodeling houses. He was an avid fan of Cleveland sports teams and Ohio State Football. He enjoyed playing golf and taking part in family gatherings. He especially loved attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Survivors include his wife, Susan G. (Berlin) Gallina, whom he married on May 11, 1968; two daughters, Rachelle Gallina and Jennifer (Michael) Ritchie; his son, William (Jennifer) Gallina III; seven grandchildren, Danielle (Jack) Lunsford, Sierra (Kyle) Lepley, Paige Gallina, Abbie Gallina, Alexandra Ritchie, Emma Ritchie and William Gallina, IV; six great-grandchildren, Rhyan Johnson, Gabriel Lunsford, Renna Lunsford, Lucas Lepley, Leah Lepley and Rosemary Lunsford; two sisters, Mary Ann (Randy) Domer and Lynda Hofer; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. G. David Weikart, as celebrant. Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
