William M. Clayton's Obituary
William M. Clayton, 59, of Alliance, died on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at 5:02 p.m., at his home. He was born on December 30, 1950 in Alliance, and lived here all of his life. A graduate of Alliance High School, William had worked for the former Transue & Williams Stamping Plant and Camelot Music in Canton. He was a U. S. Marine veteran of Vietnam and received a Purple Heart. Mr. Clayton was a member of the Dante Alighieri Society. He enjoyed collecting knives and coins. Survivors include two sisters, Kerry and Rikki Clayton both of Alliance; a brother, Corey Clayton of Alliance; a niece, Michelle Moore; and his step-mother, Mary Ann Clayton of Alliance. Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Harriet (Sutcliffe) Clayton. Private services will be held. There will be no calling hours. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
