William A. "Bill" Carlisle's Obituary
William A. "Bill" Carlisle, 83, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2003, at 4:00 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Lisbon on August 22, 1919, he had been a resident of Alliance since 1970. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Carlisle was a retired superintendent of the Alliance City Water Department and had been previously employed with the Water Department in Lisbon. He was a member of the Alliance Senior Center. Survivors include a daughter, Jerrie Lynn Homan of Minerva; two sons, Jeffrey Scott Carlisle of Austin, TX and Dennis James Carlisle of Harbeson, DE; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Dorothy A. Carlisle on January 10, 2000 (whom he married on May 2, 1945); parents, William Alfred and Jenny (Hand) Carlisle, Sr.; and four sisters, Thelma, Mildred, Ruth and Betty. Memorial services will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
