Wilford J. "Bill" Egli's Obituary
Wilford J. "Bill" Egli, 82, of Alliance, died on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 1:05 p.m. at Sterling House in Alliance. He was born on April 15, 1925 in Alliance and lived here for all of his life. A 1943 graduate of Alliance High School, he was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps, serving as a 2nd Lieutenant during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 166. Bill was formerly employed by the Ohio Bell Telephone Company for 18 years, where he was a teletype repairman. He and his children were currently the owners of W. J. Egli Co., which he and his wife co-founded in 1963. During his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Shirley C. (Sadler) Egli whom he married on November 7, 1944; a daughter, Cheryl (Matt) Stuffel of Alliance; two sons, Mike (Cheryl) Egli of Sebring and Jeff (Ann) Egli of Alliance; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Vernon Egli of Alliance; and several nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Fred and Alice (Aebi) Egli. Private funeral services will be held. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
