Wanda J. Nelson-Herrig's Obituary
Wanda (Howard) Nelson-Herrig, 90, of Salem, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 8:54 pm at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring, Ohio.
Born on August 7, 1927 in Salem, Ohio to Seward and Rena (Libert) Howard, she lived in Salem for most of her life.
Wanda was member of Emanuel Lutheran Church of Salem.
Wanda was employed at Salem Community Hospital and the former Salem Central Clinic, where she was part of their kitchen staff. She retired in 1987. In her past-time, Wanda enjoyed cooking & baking.
Survivors include her daughter, Jo-Ann N. (Robert) Glasser of Salem, OH; three grandchildren, Shawn Glasser of Salem, OH, Rekha (Andrew) Fowler of Colorado Springs, CO, Jennifer (Jason) Green of Sebring, OH; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & a nephew.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Seward & Rena Howard; her husband, Warren Andrew Nelson, whom she married on July 7, 1956 and died on January 21, 1989; a brother, Chester Howard; two sisters, Olga Sutcliff, Bonnie Weizenecker; and her second husband, Otto Herrig.
Per Wanda’s request, there will be no services. Her final resting place will be at the Firestone Cemetery in Columbiana, Ohio.
The family wishes to thank all Crandall Medical staff for their care they gave Wanda, as well as the staff of Hospice of the Valley.
