Walter L. Nimon's Obituary
Walter L. Nimon, 80, of 9523 Reeder Ave. NE, Louisville, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at his home. Born in Louisville, on October 28, 1921, he had lived all of his life in Louisville. A US Army veteran of World War II, he retired from the former Ohio Bell as a PBX installer and repairman. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, and the Communication Workers of America. Survivors include two daughters, Sue Nimon of Canton and Linda Girard of Canton; a son, Terry Nimon of Alliance, four grandchildren, James Scott Nimon, Laurie Nichols, Tina Girard, and Melissa Girard; three sisters, Margaret Sluss of North Canton, Ruth Eutzly of Canton and Betty Sproul of Canton; a brother, Wade Nimon of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife, Margaret (Ladley) Nimon on February 17, 1991; his parents, Levi and Lena (Chenot) Nimon; and two brothers, Paul Nimon and Russell Nimon. A graveside service will be held at the Marlboro Cemetery Chapel on Friday, May 24, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Barry Stirbens officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
