Vivian L. Butcher's Obituary
Vivian L. Butcher, 57, of Alliance, died on Saturday, June 12, 2004, at 11:15 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Alliance on February 14, 1947, she lived in Alliance all of her life. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church. Vivian received her degree in Education from Mount Union College in 1969. She was employed in the West Branch School System, retiring in 2001 after teaching First and Third Grades for 32 years at Maple Ridge School. She is survived by her husband, Denny G. Butcher, whom she married on August 30, 1969; two sons, Anthony Butcher of Bridgeport, CN and Denny A. Butcher of Atlanta, GA; a daughter, Kathleen Butcher of Alliance; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Mercer of Fairborn, OH and Roberta Collins of Kissimmee, FL; a brother, Roger Jackson of Midwest City, OK; and several nieces and nephews. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Kathleen (Johnston) Jackson; and two brothers, Charles and William Jackson. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 16, 2004, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 17, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. K. O. Noonoo, officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
