Virginia M. Lenz's Obituary
Virginia M. Lenz, 79, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. She was born on May 22, 1928, in Paris, Ohio, and lived in the Alliance area all of her life, graduating from Alliance High School. She was a long time member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the Y-Wives Club. Virginia and her husband of 51 years, Robert A. Lenz, both worked for many years at The Alliance Machine Company, where Virginia was the Purchasing Department secretary. Mrs. Lenz attended the Alliance Machine Retirees dinners and enjoyed the Continued Learning programs offered at Mount Union College, where she had served as President of the Mount Union Women s organization. Virginia and Robert enjoyed the friends they made on many bus trips touring the country. She is survived by two sons, Bruce (Lillian) Lenz of Canton, and Brian (Lu Ann) Lenz of Raleigh, North Carolina; two grandsons, David Brian Lenz and Adam Lee Lenz, also of Raleigh; sister and brother-in-law Jean and Robert Hannah, who were always a constant source of love and support, especially after the passing of her husband Robert; a niece Carol (Jack) King and a nephew James (Cindy) Hannah. Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert, on March 6, 2005; and her parents, James and Pauline (Krabill) Maldoven. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 1:00 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. James K. McCurdy of the First United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
