Vincent M. Oates' Obituary
Vincent M. Oates, 72, of Alliance, died on Saturday, March 8, 2003, at 2:20 p.m. at Community Care Center. Born in Alliance on April 14, 1930, he had been a life long resident of Alliance. Mr. Oates was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and had retired from Universal Co-Op. A veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, he was an avid bowler and was a Life Member of the Knights ofColumbus Council #558, the V.F.W. Post 1036, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the Christopher Columbus Society. Survivors include three brothers, John L. Oates of Canton, Ralph L. Oates of Kent and Michael A. Oates, Jr. of North Canton; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins. Preceding him in death were his parents, Michael A. Oates, Sr. and Felicia (Mallozzi) Oates. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 12, 2003, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, March 13, 2003, at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
