Verla P. Tierney's Obituary
Verla P. Tierney, 90, of Alliance, died on Friday, July 9, 2004 at 9:20 p.m. at Bel Air Senior Living Community. Born in Salineville, Ohio, on January 9, 1914, she lived most of her life in the Alliance and Sebring areas. Mrs. Tierney had been employed at the former Limoug Pottery in Sebring for 49 years. She is survived four nieces, one nephew and a dear, longtime friend, Shirley Sotcan. Preceding her in death was her husband, John P. Tierney on Dec. 19, 1991 (they were married on Feb. 13, 1946); a sister, Thelma Notman; three half sisters and one half brother. Funeral services will be held at Highland Memorial Park Chapel on Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Joe Peters, officiating. Interment will follow. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivo1ocke Funeral Home.
