Velma D. (Bericchia) Zucchero's Obituary
Velma D. (Bericchia) Zucchero, 82, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at 2:10 p.m. at St. Joseph Care Center in Louisville. A lifelong resident of Alliance, Velma was born on December 22, 1921, and was a graduate of Alliance High School. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, she was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Alliance Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Zucchero was the owner of the former Alliance Typewriter. She is survived by three sisters, Elsie Dossi of Alliance, Norma Morettini of Florida, and Dorothy Baier of Alliance; one brother, John Bericchia of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Sam Zucchero on May 15, 1969 (they were married on August 3, 1956); her parents, Battista and Orsala (Vecchia) Bericchia; and a brother, William Bericchia. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 - 12:00 noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
