Vanda Ellen (Stuckey) Myers' Obituary
Vanda Ellen (Stuckey) Myers, 77, of Alliance, died on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at 5:15 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on December 30, 1934 in Salem, she lived in Alliance most of her life and was a 1954 graduate of Alliance High School. Mrs. Myers was a member of the Freeburg Church of the Brethren. She retired from Lamborn Floral as a rose grader and after retirement, she continued to work at Stahl s Orchard for several more years. In her past-time, she enjoyed quilting, reading, camping, gardening, traveling and especially visiting her children and grandchildren. In addition, Vanda enjoyed attending the "Class of 1954" luncheons and reunions and received great pleasure in the companionship and love of her 4 yr. old lab, "Toby". Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne (Mike) Baumgartner of Alliance and Deborah (Tim) Fortune of Yorktown, VA; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Wanda Anderson of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Kenneth Ray Myers on February 23, 2011, whom she married on June 1, 1956; a son, Burel "Butch" Myers; her parents, Leo and Esther (Reber) Stuckey; two sisters, Shirley Zigler and Audrey Rininger; and two brothers, David Stuckey and Arthur Stuckey. A Memorial Service will be held at the Freeburg Church of the Brethren on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Zellers officiating. Interment will follow at Freeburg Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
