Vada M. (Hamlin) Wachsman's Obituary
Vada M. (Hamlin) Wachsman, 80, of Alliance, died peacefully with her family at her side, on Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at 3:05 a.m. at Aultman Hospital. A lifelong resident of Alliance, Vada was born on September 18, 1923, and graduated from Alliance High School. She attended Mt. Union College and was a majorette with the Mt. Union College Band. She was a former employee of Hillcrest Market. Mrs. Wachsman was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a member of ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens) and a former member of the Alliance Women's Club. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Carl F. (they were married on November 16, 1942, in Ft. Worth Texas where they resided for two years); children, Gary E. Wachsman of Alliance, Pat L. Libis of Massillon, Bill (Darlene) Wachsman of Canton, and Jody L. Wachsman, a resident of St. John's Villa in Carrollton; one grandson, Scott Wachsman of Alliance; and two step grandchildren, Jennifer Tan and Jessica Cropley, both of North Canton. Her parents, Clyde A. and Ida M. (Perry) Hamlin preceded her in death. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, December 15, 2003, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, December 15, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
