Thomas E. "Tom" Hagan's Obituary
Thomas E. "Tom" Hagan, 79, of Alliance, died on Friday, March 29, 2002, at 3:00 a.m., at Altercare of Alliance. Born in Salem on April 15, 1922, he moved to Alliance in 1945. He had attended St. Paul Catholic School, the Salem public schools and was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II in field artillery with the 83rd infantry Division and was involved in seven major campaigns. Retiring as Superintendent of the Plate Department of the Alliance Review, he was a member of the American Legion Post #166, VFW Post 1036, and the Roma Society. Survivors include, three daughters Mary Chris Stubeda of Ft. Knox Ky., Patti Hagan of Ft. Lauderdale FL, Kathy Meszaros of Ft. Lauderdale FL, two sons Thomas Hagan of Ft. Lauderdale FL, and Michael Hagan; a friend Judy Bowman of Alliance; two grandchildren; two sisters Margaret Battles of Aliquippa, PA, and Geraldine Vogelhuber of Columbus, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his companion Elaine Burgdorff in October 13 1988; his parents Thomas L. and Geraldine (Coltman) Hagan; a sister, Eileen Hagan, and a brother Frank Hagan. Memorial services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, April 1, 2002, at 4:00 pm. There are no calling hours.
