Theresa M. Vargo's Obituary
Theresa M. Vargo, 76, of Alliance, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at 6:15 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Salem on May 27, 1929, she had lived in the Salem and Alliance areas all of her life. Theresa attended St. Paul s Catholic School in Salem and graduated from Salem High School. Mrs. Vargo attended the First Church of God in Alliance and retired from Copeland Oaks where she had been employed as a dietary aid. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and of the B.P.O. Elks. She is survived by three daughters, Kenna (Adam) Bevier of Lakewood, Michele (Michael) Gentry of Alliance, and Tina (Bob) Pitner of Fairview; two sons, Michael J. (Pam) Vargo, Jr. of Alliance and John J. Vargo of Cambridge; five grandchildren, Daniel Newshutz of Lakewood, Richard M. Close, Gina Rotuna, Jacob Vargo, Shaun Gentry, and Allyson Vargo, all of Alliance; three sisters, Helen McDevitt of Salem, Mary Graf of California, and Pauline Martin of Wheeling, WV; two brothers, George Iagulli of Streetsboro and Paul Iagulli of California; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Vargo on May 26, 1981, (they were married on August 19, 1955); her great-grandson, Richard M. Close; her parents, Guy and Mary (Merino) Iagulli; and two sisters, Elizabeth Rudolph and Margaret Green. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, February 17, 2006, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ray Lias of the First Church of God officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
