Theodore "Tom" Trieff's Obituary
Theodore “Tom” Trieff, 85, of Alliance, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 at McCrea Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born on April 1, 1930 in Alliance, to Theodore and Mary (Auram) Trieff, he lived in Alliance all of his life and was a graduate of Alliance High School.
He served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1950 – 1954.
Tom was member of St. Theodore Romanian Catholic Church and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance
Mr. Trieff was employed at General Motors in Lordstown as a machinist for over 20 years and had retired in 1995.
He was a member of BPO Elks #467, the American Legion, the VFW, and the Loyal Order of the Moose.
Tom enjoyed golf, archery, and hunting.
Survivors include his daughter, Janice (Kevin "Butch" Keller) Trieff of Canton; his son, Thomas S. (Chris) Trieff of Brewster; a step-son, Tim (Sue) Mergenthaler of Alliance; a sister, Mary Duchon of Alliance; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Marilyn A. Trieff, whom he married on February 14, 1959 and died on January 21, 1997; his parents; a step-son, Larry Mergenthaler; a sister, Helen Laing; and three brothers, Paul Trieff, Peter Trieff, and Daniel Trieff.
The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
His Funeral Service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10:30 am, with Rev. Ovidiu Marginean, of St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Alliance Visiting Nurses Assoc. and Hospice, 885 S. Sawburg Ave., Alliance, OH 44601.
