Theodore "Ted" Ruth's Obituary
Theodore "Ted" Ruth, 80, of Alliance, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 12:55 pm at his home in Alliance.
Born on August 7, 1936 in Strattanville, Pennsylvania to Harry and Alice (Grady) Ruth, he lived in Alliance for most of his life and attended Sebring McKinley High School.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served our country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion, Post 166.
Ted was employed at Transue & Williams Forge in maintenance and retired after 32 years of service.
He was a member of the Mt. Union Chain Gang for 25 years and was involved with the Hot Stove League, on the Board and as Manager, for over 25 years.
Survivors include wife, Judy (O'Donnell) Ruth, whom he married on November 22, 1964; three sons, Tom (Lori) Ruth, Sam (Marlene) Ruth and Tim (Deanna) Ruth; his daughter, Tina (Doug) Hayden; eight grandchildren, Ryan Ruth, Tiffany Ruth, Ashley (Brandon) Keene, Trenton Ruth, Myranda Fisher, Amber Shaffer, Kathryn Fisher and Jamie Ruth; six great-grandchildren, Aden, Keatyn, Kamden, Orion, Adia and Baby Keene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Florence and Nancy; and two brothers, Floyd and Ralph.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
