Thelma M. Oyster's Obituary
Thelma M. Oyster, 88, of Atwater, died on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at 9:20 p.m. at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. Born on January 29, 1921 in Canton, she lived most of her life in the Alliance and Atwater areas. Thelma was of the Protestant faith and attended several different churches. She retired as part owner with her late husband from Oyster s T.V. In her past-time, she enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards, mowing the lawn and attending church. She is survived by a daughter, Kay (Carroll) Hoschar; three grandchildren, Terry Hoschar, Melinda (Larry) Bozak and Kristina (Scott) Beans; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Douglas and Devon; three sisters, Bettie Fultz, Fredda Ritchie and Mable Ritchie; two brothers, Earl and Robert Ritchie; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Devone Oyster on September 18, 1982, whom she married on January 10, 1939; a grandchild, Devone Thomas; her parents, Leroy and Mary (Carr) Ritchie; four sisters, Grace Grant, Florence Harris, Alma Grate and Wanda Simes; and three brothers, Dale, Dwight and Wayne Ritchie; and two infants. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Gene Blakeman, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
