Talmadge Rose's Obituary
Talmadge Rose, 77, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 4:05 a.m. at his home. He was born on November 30, 1931 in Elliot County, KY, and lived in Alliance since 1953. Talmadge served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rose retired after 30 years of service from American Steel, where he was employed as a chipper. He was a lifetime member of the Knox Twp Sportsman s Club, the Amateur Trapshooting Association and the Ohio State Trap Shooting Hall of Fame. Talmadge was an avid hunter and sportsman. Talmadge is survived by his wife, Jewell (Holbrook) Rose whom he married on March 16, 1953; a son, Michael Rose of Alliance; three grandchildren, Tara Rose of N. Canton, Brandon Rose of Alliance and Kyle Rose of Alliance; a sister, Maxine Harris of Olive Hill, KY; five brothers, Jim Rose of Marlboro, Jeff Rose of Minerva, Jake, Larry and Bruce Rose, Jr. all of Olive Hill, KY; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a son, Danny Rose; his parents, Bruce and Gladys (Holbrook) Rose; and a brother, John Rose. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, March 12, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, March 13, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Marvin Thomas of Solid Rock Fellowship Church in Hartville, officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214, the American Cancer Society, 525 N.
