Sylvia Maggard's Obituary
Sylvia Maggard, 65, of Alliance, died on Sunday, June 13, 2010, at 8:45 p.m. at her home. She was born on March 14, 1945 in Olive Hill, KY, and lived in Alliance since 1984. She was a member of the Pennsylvania St. Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Maggard had worked for F. E. Schumacher s, where she was employed as a press operator. She was also a nurse s aid at Roselawn Terrace. In her past-time, she enjoyed gardening and going to church. She loved to visit nursing homes and liked to sing. She is survived by her previous husband, James Maggard; a daughter, Linda Wheeler of the home; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Maggard of Olive Hill, KY; three sons, Glen (Jill Richie) Maggard of Olive Hill, KY, Donnie (Jessie) Maggard of Alliance and David (Angie Gordon) Maggard of Alliance; seven grandchildren, Justin, Caleb and Logan Maggard, Kristen and Makayla Wheeler, and Colton and Paige Hill; a sister, Sue (Ernie) Wells of Worthington, KY; four brothers, Dennis Kiser of Olive Hill, KY, Tony (Lulabelle) Kiser of Alliance, Jimmy Kiser of Alliance and Phillip (Barb) Kiser of Olive Hill, KY; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Culie and Catherine (Conley) Kiser; an infant sister, Brenda Kiser, three sisters, Nixola Roe, Alma Jean Raybourn and Oney Reynolds; and five brothers, Truman, Terry, Ray "Shorty", George and Norman Kiser. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jay Hill of the Pennsylvania St. Freewill Baptist Church and Evangelist Chris Russell of Shelby Freewill Baptist Church co-officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
