Steve F."The Finger" Berletich's Obituary
Steve F. Berletich, "The Finger", 87, passed away at 8:36pm Saturday, January 12, 2013, at The Cleveland Clinic. Born on October 24, 1925 in Alliance OH, he was a lifelong resident. Steve loved his family and friends, his Croatian culture, Ohio sports, playing golf and living life to the fullest. He was a graduate of Alliance High, a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and a veteran of World War II, where he proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy. He belonged to VFW Post #1036 and American Legion Post #166. He was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Country Club where he served as President and was Club Champion. He was also a member of the Canton 50 Plus Club, The Croatian Fraternal Union, The Croatian-American Club of Farrell, PA, St. Georges Croatian Club of Youngstown, OH and the Louisville Eagles. Mr. Berletich retired from the Ford Motor Company, where he was employed as an electrician for more than 25 years. He previously worked for Morgan Engineering. He enjoyed making Sarma, listening to Tamburitza music, doing crossword and Sudoku puzzles and the occasional shot of Slivo with those he loved. Everyone knew him to be a devoted family man and a good, honest, loving, hardworker who always had a smile to give or a hand to lend. He is survived by his daughter Steva Marie McCune, his granddaughter Kayla Nicole Marko, his great grandchildren Hunter and Chloe McCallister, his son Michael Berletich and by the love of his life, his beloved wife Marcella V. (Estock) Berletich, whom he married on November 5, 1989; as well as his dear loving family Lori Bann, Tricia Gelmini, Mike Gelmini, Andy and Max Estock, Mary Ann Estock, his sister Mary Ann Brown, Mona Lee Berletich, his nephews Ronnie Force, Mickey Muzevich, and David Berletich plus a tremendous extended family and group of life long friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Marko and Mary Ann (Stokan) Berletich, sisters Cathryn and Barbara and brothers, Nick, Frank, Mark, John and George. As per Mr. Berletich s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services or calling hours. The Fingers last request to everyone who knew him was: "Have a libation in honor of my memory and celebrate life." A celebration honoring this request will be held in Alliance at Polonori's on Thursday, February 7, at 6pm. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S.
