Stella Donohoe's Obituary
Stella (Dillon) Donohoe, 93, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Davis Haven in Beloit, Ohio.
Born on October 29, 1921 in Stratton, Ohio to William E. and Minerva Elizabeth (Hutton) Dillon, she lived in Alliance for most of her life.
Stella was member of First Baptist Church and was a 1940 graduate of Alliance High School
Stella retired from Alliance Manufacturing Co. as a Motor Assembler. She was a member of AARP, Alliance Manufacturing Co. Retiree Club and the Alliance Senior Center.
Stella and her husband Sam enjoyed spending their time at Dr. Roach’s Outdoor League at Berlin Reservoir. She also enjoyed bowling and traveling, but especially loved her time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Samuel (Janis) Donohoe Jr. of Canonsburg, PA, & Greg (Sue) Donohoe of Alliance, OH; five grandchildren, Ryan Donohoe of Alliance, OH, Colby Donohoe of Alliance, OH, Matthew Donohoe of Las Vegas, NV, Michael (Emma) Snider of Orinda, CA, & Becky (Ronn) Manhollan of Venitia, PA; five great-grandchildren, Cameron Donohoe, Gabriel Snider, Justin Manhollan, Nicholas Manhollan, & Stella Manhollan; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Samuel E. Donohoe, whom she married on August 16, 1941 and died on January 5, 2013; her parents, William E. & Minerva Elizabeth Dillon; two sisters, Ruby Glekler & Thelma Dillon; and two brothers, Earl Dillon & Charles Dillon.
As per Stella’s wish, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Her Memorial Service will begin at 5:00 pm, with Pastor Steve Rhodes, of First Baptist Church, officiating.
