Shirley Ann Benner's Obituary
Shirley Ann (Hutter) Benner, 87, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 6:00 am at Canterbury Villa of Alliance.
Born on June 29, 1936 in Salem, to Thomas Victor and Audrey (Yeagley) Hutter, she lived in Alliance all of her life.
Shirley was a lifelong member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
She was a 1955 graduate of Minerva High School.
Shirley enjoyed walking her dog, "Sweetie", shopping with her special niece, Kim Burkhart, gardening, making pies, and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Amy (Shawn) Rinehart of Cardington; her son, Brian (Jennifer) Benner of Carrollton; five grandchildren, Luke Rinehart, Ben Rinehart, Brighton (Alysea) Benner, Brady Benner and Ethan Benner; her great-granddaughter, Bria Benner; two sisters, MaryLou Stoffer-Glover and Marjorie DelPuppo; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Russell Earl Benner; her parents; and her sister, Ruth Hoover.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor John Dunn, of Tabor Ridge Community Church, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
