Sharon Kay Rich's Obituary
Sharon Kay Rich, 70, of Alliance, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at her home. She was born on September 10, 1940 in Warren, and lived in Alliance most of her life. A 1958 graduate of Alliance High School, Sharon received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Union College in 1984. And retired from Mount Union College, where she was the Director of Career Development. Sharon was a member of Saint Paul s Lutheran Church. She was also a member of Omega Nu Tau Sorority, Iota Club, Alliance Woman s Club, and the Alliance Area Senior Center. In her past-time, she enjoyed art, painting, sewing, custom picture framing and golf. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother. Sharon is survived by her husband, James Rich whom she married at St. Joseph Catholic Church on June 13, 1959; a daughter, Shelly (Jon) Christopherson of Grove City; a son, Todd (Renee`) Rich of North Canton; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Taylor, Hunter, Makenzie and Logan; a brother, Mark Jeffrey Dixon of Alliance; and several cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents, Ray and Bette (Stevens) Dixon; and a sister, Janet (Dixon) Breit. The family will receive friends at St. Paul s Lutheran Church on Monday September 27, 2010 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Timothy Muse officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
