Scott A. Meiring's Obituary
Scott A. Meiring, 42, of Lisbon, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012, at 8:11 p.m. at Aultman Hospital in Canton with his beloved family at his side. Born on April 28, 1970 in Alliance, he lived in Alliance most of his life, living in Lisbon for the last 10 years. He received his education at Alliance High School and was employed at the family business. In his past-time, he enjoyed drag racing at Quaker City Drag strip, working on his 1970 Nova, spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren, Kassidy and Trenton, and his dog, Rusty. He was very proud of his vegetable gardens. Survivors include his mother, Victoria and John Stewart of Salem; three daughters, Chelsea Meiring and her companion Lee of Leetonia, Kristina Reitz of Alliance and Jessica Rettinger of Deltona, FL; a son, Zachary Kenst of Salem; a sister, Linda (Caleb) Fike of Wellsville; his fianc , Annette Reitz of Lisbon; four grandchildren, Kassidy Reitz, Trenton Townes, both of Leetonia, Nathaniel Rettinger and Leighlynn Rettinger of Deltona FL; a nephew, Matthew Harper of Wellsville; two nieces, Cayla Fike of Wellsville and Nicole Harper of Leetonia; paternal grandmother, Gloria Oaks of Woodbridge, VA; an uncle, Jeff Meiring of Alliance; an aunt, Melanie (Mark) Mangus of Damascus; a host of cousins; and his beloved dog, Rusty. Preceding him in death was his father, Alan W. Meiring; paternal grandparents, Nick and Charlotte Popovich; Peter and Ruth Ann Meiring; and his favorite aunt, Betty (Donald Shakey) Tarolli. His memorial service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Chapel on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Matthew M. Mankowski officiating. Interment will follow. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
