Sandy (Littleton) Swank Heltman's Obituary
Sandy (Littleton) Swank Heltman, 61, of Sebring, died on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at her home. Born on December 21, 1947 in Alliance, she lived in Alliance most of her life. She spent a year traveling in Hawaii, spent a few years in Columbus and most recently resided in Sebring. Sandy attended Maple Ridge Elementary and graduated from Sebring High School and was a member of the Alliance Eagles. Known by family and friends as an eternal optimist, finding the good in everybody and the bright side of any situation, she was always ready with a kind word and a sincere smile. She enjoyed dancing, music, Elvis, radio trivia on Ricco, cooking, horses, traveling, Hawaii, scary movies and loved Italian food. Mrs. Heltman is survived by her husband, James Heltman, whom she married on November 10, 1990; a son, Brian L. Swank of Alliance; a son and daughter-in-law, Leo Scott Swank and Stephanie Swank of Alliance; a step-daughter, Theresa Heltman of Alliance; two step-sons, John Heltman of Florence, KY and Keith Heltman of Alliance; six grandchildren, Aaron, Aleah, Parker, Brahm, Brianna and Dakota; four step-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Cheri Prendergast and Bill Prendergast of Beloit; a brother and his companion, John Littleton and Patti Reiner of Alliance; a brother and sister-in-law, Chuck Littleton and Debbie Littleton of Rittman; and nine nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her father, Robert Littleton on December 9, 2003; her mother, Carol (McGarry) Littleton Wallace on December 2, 1987; and grandparents, Frank and Freda McGarry, John and Minnie Littleton; and a niece Amanda Littleton. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, March 13, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Keith Farmer officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
