Sandra Burris' Obituary
Sandra Burris, 66, of Alliance, died on Thursday, May 17, 2007, at 9:50 p.m. at her home. She was born on March 15, 1941 in Willard, and had been a resident of Alliance since 1959. She was a graduate of Mount Union College and was a member of the Abiding Savior Church. Sandra was the business teacher for West Branch High School from 1964 to 1995. Mrs. Burris enjoyed golfing and was employed at the Tannenhauf Golf Club after her retirement. She volunteered at the Salvation Army and was also an avid Indians fan. Sandra is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Burris whom she married on April 25, 1965; a daughter, Jennifer Kungle of Akron; a step-daughter, Brenda Zeleny of Newton Falls; a son, Philip Burris of Alliance; three granddaughters, Sandra, Adreanne and Amanda; a sister, Linda Petelle of Danvers, MA; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Frances (Krebs) Fike. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, May 21, 2007 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Abiding Savior Lutheran Church on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dean Lewis, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
