Sam Fasone's Obituary
Sam Fasone, 77, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, November 25, 2003, at 2:15 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Sicily, Italy, on January 30, 1926, he had been a resident Alliance for most of his life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mr. Fasone was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He was a self-employed painter and belonged to the Canton Painter's Union. He loved woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean (Gonser) Fasone, they were married on Feb. 8, 1947; a son, S. Steven (Jan) Fasone of Alliance; three grandchildren, Autumn L. (Shaun) Cassidy, Steven R. Fasone, and Scott A. Fasone; two sisters, Rose Sarchione and Marie Kehner; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Geraldine (Calcagna) Fasone; and two brothers, James and Joseph Fasone. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, November 28, 2003, from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, November 28, 2003, at 12:00 noon with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
