Ruth E. Schreckengost's Obituary
Our precious mother, Ruth E. Schreckengost, 78, of Alliance, went home to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, on Monday, July 20, 2009, at 12:36 a.m. at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, following a short illness. Born on June 3, 1931 in Alliance, she lived in Alliance all of her life and was a member of the Salvation Army since childhood. She was also a member of the Sebring VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Schreckengost retired from Royal China in 1985, where she was employed as a utility girl. Ruth treated all she knew with respect and loved everyone and no one will forget her beautiful smile. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra K. (Samuel) Rupp of Alliance, Pamela M. (Roger) Steed of Alliance and Edna G. (William) Warner of Alliance; two sons, Robert W. (Carol) Schreckengost of Alliance and Ronald L. (Julie) Schreckengost of Alliance; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; life long friend, George Holk; faithful companion and pet, Zac; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was a grandson, her parents; five sisters; and a brother. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, July 23, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. with the Major Robert Myers of Salvation Army of Canton officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
