Ruth Ramsayer's Obituary
Ruth (Detchon) Ramsayer, 89, of Alliance, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 8:35 am at Alliance Community Hospital in Alliance, Ohio.
Born on February 16, 1928 in Beloit, Ohio to Ocie Leo and Elizabeth Irene (Boyle) Detchon, she lived in this area all of her life.
Ruth attended Beloit High School and was employed at Alliance Manufacturing Co. where she retired on April 1, 1989 after 44 years of service.
She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Alliance Manufacturing Retirees.
Ruth loved traveling, working in the yard and playing games of chance. She especially loved the Antique Road Show TV program.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James P. and Cheryl Ramsayer of Alliance, OH; granddaughter, Andrea (Timothy) McMullin of Fairview, PA; grandson, Douglas (Rachel) Ramsayer of Xenia, OH; six great-grandchildren, Darren Ramsayer, Augusta (Ryan) Gerrety, Ryan Ramsayer, Nora "Libby" McMullin, Molly McMullin, and Samuel Ramsayer; a great-great-granddaughter, Iris Gerrety; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Paul H. Ramsayer, whom she married on June 27, 1945 and whom died on October 23, 1986; her parents, Ocie Leo and Elizabeth Irene Detchon; three brothers, Robert Detchon, Raymond Detchon, and Carl Detchon; and an infant sister, Nancy Detchon.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronald L. Taylor, Sr, Pastor of Declare the Works Ministries, Xenia, Ohio, officiating. Burial will take place at Fairmount Memorial Park.
