Ruth (Stockberger) Heim's Obituary
Ruth (Stockberger) Heim, 90, formerly of Alliance, died on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 12:38 p.m. at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. She was born on October 11, 1917 in Port Arthur, WI, and lived in Alliance from 1952 until moving to Glen Carbon, IL in 2006. Ruth was a member of the Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg. Mrs. Heim had worked for the Timken Roller Bearing Company for 15 years and had previously worked at the Turner Drug Store for nine years and had spent six years in the cafeteria as a baker for Walsh College. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 34 years. Ruth was a quilter for many many years and enjoyed bowling for over 40 years. Ruth is survived by a daughter, Pat (Joel) Stockert of Glen Carbon, IL; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Lowell Stockberger of Ogden, UT; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Alva R. Heim on October 16, 2006 whom she married on October 18, 1952; her parents, Luther and Jennie (Lowman) Stockberger; two sisters, Opal Whittenberger and Wanda Stockberger; and three brothers, Charles, Frank and Grant Stockberger. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at 12:00 noon, with Rev. Joseph A. Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
