Ruth Elizabeth Fisher's Obituary
Ruth Elizabeth Fisher, 83, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at 1:15 a.m. at Aultman Hospital. Mrs. Fisher was born in Greenville, PA, on July 24, 1921, and lived most of her life in Alliance. A graduate of the Canton Actual Business College, she retired as an executive secretary for Columbia Gas and had formerly been employed at the YMCA as a secretary. A member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, Ruth served as a Eucharistic Minister and was also a member of the Regina Coeli Altar and Rosary Society. Mrs. Fisher was a seamstress and enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She is survived by four daughters, Linda Fisher of Raleigh, NC, Beverly Mohler of North Canton, Donna Campbell of Howard, and Karen Moormann of Brunswick; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Joseph Fisher on August 17, 1997 (they were married on June 20, 1941); her parents, Clinton and Elizabeth (Mehler) Carpenter; and a brother, Merwin Carpenter. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Seifert as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
